Sworn interpreting for appointments and official procedures

Service for appointments and hearings where a sworn interpreter is required. Choose the mode and request a quote via the form.

Mode

In-person sworn interpreting for appointments, administrative procedures and other formal matters. A 4-hour minimum applies to cover booking the service and travel, even if the assignment is shorter. We confirm availability, location and estimated duration in advance.

Rate: €50/hour Minimum: 4 hours

Sworn interpreting by video call, recommended when the authority accepts online appointments. A 1-hour minimum applies, even if the assignment is shorter. From the second hour onwards, billing is pro-rated according to the actual time used.

Is a sworn translation official and valid for public authorities?

Yes. A sworn translation is an official translation carried out by a Sworn Translator-Interpreter appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation. It is typically submitted to public authorities, universities, notaries and organisations that require an official translation. For use abroad, an apostille or legalisation may be required, depending on the case.

What does a sworn translation include (seal, signature and certification)?

It includes the sworn translator's certification, signature and seal as an official translation. On paper, it is delivered with a handwritten signature and physical seal (usually on stamped paper). Digitally, you receive a PDF that reproduces the sworn translation (with visible signature and seal) and includes a verifiable qualified electronic signature (e.g. via VALIDe).

Which format should I choose: digital (PDF) or paper + PDF?

Digital (PDF): recommended if the authority accepts electronic submission (online procedures). You receive a PDF ready to upload to portals. Paper + PDF: recommended when they require the sworn translation on paper (physical original). It includes the paper original and a PDF copy.

How is the price calculated and what is the minimum for a sworn translation?

Per-word rate (not per document or per page). On standard turnaround, a minimum per order applies: €40 (PDF) or €55 (paper + PDF), up to 330 words. Above that, it is calculated according to the final word count.

What are the turnaround times and how does the urgent service work?

Standard: 48–72 business hours (no surcharge). Urgent: 24 business hours with +10 % (subject to availability). The exact date is confirmed in writing in the quote.

What is the minimum for sworn interpreting (in person or online)?

Sworn interpreting is charged per hour (€50/hour). In person: minimum billable 4 hours. Online: minimum billable 1 hour; from the second hour onwards, time is pro-rated.

When is the delivery date or booking confirmed?

Confirmation is provided in writing (quote or service terms). If payment is received later, scheduling may change and the turnaround time is calculated from payment confirmation.

Yes. Your documents are handled confidentially and used only to process your request and provide the service.
